A new free Vocational Training Program for village women and older girls, which focuses on sewing and tailor skills, was started by Open Hands Education Trust in Dadwan Village on January 6, 2017. The classroom is located in a borrowed building, and uses sewing machines which were donated through Open Hands Education. A teacher has been hired, and many enthusiastic women and older girls have joined the program. They will be learning skills that will help them to find work and be able to support their families as well as increase their self-esteem and feelings of empowerment. This is the first program offered by our new charity - Open Hands Education - which plans to work to help people in need in the rural Dadwan Village area of Bihar.
