Providing warm blankets for vulnerable elderly villagers in the cold winter months

Providing warm blankets for poor elderly villagers in the cold winter months

Food, clothing and shelter are the three basic human needs. Many among India and Bihar’s underprivileged people lack adequate clothing and blankets to keep warm in the harsh winters of northern India. Comfort and even survival can become difficult – especially for the vulnerable elderly.

Open Hands Education Trust has been gifting warm blankets to these helpless elders. Providing them with the comfort of a blanket in winter is a gesture that can be life-saving.

We would like to expand this program to include elders in other local villages as well as Dadwan. Each blanket costs $18 Canadian. One fifty blankets would then cost $900 Canadian. Next winter we are love to provide blankets for up to 50 vulnerable elderly villagers in Dadwan and surrounding villages. You can help these disadvantaged elders by donating towards this program.
