Food, clothing, and shelter are the three most basic human needs. Yet many vulnerable elderly individuals in India—and particularly in Bihar—lack adequate clothing, nutritious food, and warm blankets to protect them during the harsh winters of northern India. For those already facing hardship, comfort and even survival can become difficult without this essential support.
Open Hands Education Trust has been supporting vulnerable elderly people and children by providing warm blankets and essential dry food supplies. Together, we aim to bring comfort, warmth, and nourishment to those who need it most. We are working to address these needs by providing warm blankets, distributing dry food bags to elderly individuals, and offering meals to children. A simple blanket during winter is more than a gift—it can be life-saving.
As we look to the future, we hope to expand this initiative to support elderly residents in additional local villages beyond Dadwan. Each blanket costs $18 CAD, and each dry food bag costs $20 CAD. The cost of 50 blankets totals $18,00 CAD. Our goal for the coming winter is to provide blankets to up to 100 vulnerable elderly and 100 bags of dry food villagers in Dadwan village and surrounding areas.
We invite you to help make this possible. Your support can bring warmth, comfort, and dignity to disadvantaged elders who need it most. Any contribution toward this program will directly impact lives and help us extend compassion to those who are too often forgotten.
