New Renovations Begin on OHET Building in Dadwan Village!

With the help of a generous donor, we have been able to plan and begin renovations to our borrowed building in the village. A need for more space for the Children's Free School as well as the Women's Vocational Sewing Program has become clear over the past year. As well, with the current set-up the children and women are being exposed to too much cold, rain and heat, depending on the weather. The plan is to increase the size of the space and make it weather-proof and more inviting - with better light and fans. Work has already begun and should be completed in about one and half months.

New Study Benches and Tables Arrive at Open Hands Free School!

We are excited and happy to announce that once the building renovation was completed, we were able to purchase new study benches and tables to accommodate 90 children in the new classroom. This is quite a milestone for the school, as it is the first time that the students are able to sit at study tables rather than be on the floor while studying at school. The study tables/benches were made possible by the kind donation from a donor who made the donation in honour of a relative who had died. We are very pleased to be able to offer the children a much upgraded classroom setting. In addition, a brand new desk for the teacher has been purchased.
